CONCEPT FOR ADAPTIVE RE-USE OF VICTORIAN PUMPING STATION
LONDON, UK

We were delighted to be tasked with project management and fundraising for the reconstruction of the listed Connaught Tunnel Headhouse, East London, UK.

The Headhouse is a beautiful listed octagonal lantern-roof Victorian structure, built in 1878, as part of the tunnel works above the Royal Victoria and Albert Docks.

KDC negotiated and secured leases and planning agreements, as well as brokering support from a wide base of local stakeholders and advocates including Greater London Authority, Siemens AG, Transport For London, Emirates AirLine, London Borough of Newham, London’s Royal Docks and English Heritage, working closely with local advocates including Lord Mawson and Rt Hon Stephen Timms MP.
